Frequently Asked Questions

Can I be adjusted while pregnant?

YES! Up to 90% of pregnant women will experience some sort of back pain, rib expansion pains, and/or headaches. Pregnancy increases the body’s production of relaxin, a hormone that relaxes ligaments in preparation for birth. Along with weight gain and changing body mechanics, most women will benefit from chiropractic care. The Webster Technique is a careful assessment of the pelvis and supportive ligaments with a gentle adjustment using a drop table.

Will I have to come back 100 times?

Your treatment plan is individualized to your exam findings and your needs. We do NOT sell “packages” to keep you coming back. We base our treatment plans on evidence-based (researched) practices.

Should babies and children be adjusted?

The short answer is YES! Chiropractic care is safe and effective at all ages! Many babies born in hospitals experience extensive stressors to their nervous systems due to the birthing process. Some may have colic, difficulty latching or nursing, sleep problems. Gentle chiropractic adjustments, the pressure used to check the ripeness of a tomato, can be helpful in restoring the nervous systems full potential.

More than 75% of a child’s nervous system growth happens in the first years of life! As they learn to roll, crawl and walk, it is important to help them thrive by supporting their nervous systems!

Do I really need to be adjusted AFTER giving birth?

The postpartum visit is very important! Your body has gone through a massive change in a matter of hours! Having a check-up 2-3 weeks after delivery if you delivered vaginally, or 4-5 weeks post-surgical birth, is a great way to make sure your pelvis is healing in a balanced way. Many mothers experience upper back and neck discomfort following birth as they focus on feeding and gazing into their new babe’s eyes! This visit is also a great time to get some help with breastfeeding or share any postpartum emotional issues you may be experiencing in a safe and accepting environment. The AT-HOME postpartum visit allows time for processing important feelings and moments of your birth, assessment of mom’s body, as well as a functional assessment of baby’s mouth, tongue and palate as it relates to feeding.
