Meet Dr. Leslie Gearhart

Dr. Leslie Gearhart

Empowering families to make evidence based medical decisions is one of my greatest passions. The human body has an innate power to heal itself when all body systems are supported. There is so much more to “healthcare” than just treating pathology and illness! Chiropractic care allows the nervous system to function at its highest capacity allowing you to adapt to environmental, physical and social stressors.

Originally interested in the field of physical therapy, I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I worked in the rehabilitation department of a local Chiropractor’s facility. This is where I first learned of the power of the chiropractic adjustment. I pursued graduate studies at New York Chiropractic College, where I met my husband Dr. Derek. Together, we co-led multiple student-run organizations, helping others find their love in the chiropractic field.

Following graduation, I have worn many hats; balancing motherhood, homeschooling, caring for my husband through the hardest fight of his life (Stage 4 Burkitt’s Lymphoma) and providing chiropractic care for pregnant moms and their families.

Family is the heart and home of our community. I firmly believe in supporting a woman’s innate right to make informed healthcare choices for her own family. By creating a safe community of empowered parents, I support and encourage a mother’s inner guidance. It truly lights up my life for mothers to feel the loving and gentle care of chiropractic that strengthens the individual, the family and others around them.

From cancer to the common cold, I have experienced many of life’s ups and downs when it comes to caring for family. During my own pregnancies, I received chiropractic care to ease everything from rib and low back pains due to the growing/changing body, but also to help balance my pelvis (via the Webster Technique) when my daughter presented in a breech position. Not only have I experienced many of pregnancy’s (and post partum) challenges, I also understands the financial, emotional and social concerns that families can face as they grow. I have dedicated my postgraduate studies to focusing on pregnancy, postpartum, Tethered Oral Ties (TOTs or “tongue/lip ties”) so I am always learning and reviewing new therapies available to families. I have relationships with many types of local practitioners to support the whole family.

Our practice is a family affair, so we always welcome and encourage ALL parts of your family to join you at your office visit!
